A North Lynn dance school, fresh from performing in the West End and Disneyland Paris, will take to the stage this Saturday with a spectacular performance at Lynn’s Corn Exchange.

Principal Tina Rodgers, who runs Footlights Performing Arts with Karen Darlington, said: “The show will be full of show-stopping tunes from the West End and Broadway, some classical and all different types of dance styles.

“It’s a very good entertainment programme and will prove to be great family entertainment.”

Dancers of all ages will be taking part in the variety show, Get Moving, with the youngest performer aged just two years old and even grandparents set to pull on their dancing shoes.

Tina said: “The dancers are very excited about the show and are feeling very good about performing.

“A huge amount of work is involved, but it is a really good experience and they all really enjoy it.

“They’re all really looking forward to the show.”

The performance will also include a guest solo performance by ex-student Callum Dyer who has since studied at one of Europe’s premier schools for dance training and education, the Central School of Ballet.

He is soon to start work with a South African ballet company.

Tina said: “We’ve had so many dancers go on to do things in the West End and all over the place.

“It’s very satisfying to know that it all began at our dance school in shows like this one.

“By preparing for shows like these, dancers learn important skills that mean they can carry on dancing for fun or for future careers.”

Footlights students have already had a busy year after competition wins saw them performing both at Her Majesty’s Stage in the West End and to an international audience in Disneyland Paris to standing ovations.

Tina said: “We’re having a really good year already.

“It was lovely. The dancers performed to packed theatres and received a standing ovation.”

Tickets for the show, which starts at 7pm, are still available from Tina on 07787 155124.

They will also be available on the door.
