A current exhibition at Lynn’s True’s Yard Museum charts the history of and attitudes towards migration in the area, from medieval settlers to the modern day.
Norfolk has gained an unfair reputation when it comes to migration, when the opposite is true.
The Baltic merchants of the Hanseatic League came to Lynn at the end of the 12th century and were welcomed with opened arms, with a warehouse created especially for their use – Hanse House. This special relationship continued to develop and now Lynn is a part of the New Hanseatic League, every year celebrating Hanse Day to honour this historic relationship.
The Migration and King’s Lynn exhibition will track the migration of different groups to the area.
