A new exhibition at Lynn’s Arts Centre will explore the beauty of the Norfolk landscape and coastline in a series of paintings that
feature iconic images of the town.
The exhibition is called Four Seasons and will consist of land and seascapes in oil and watercolour that have been set out in the order of the seasons.
This is artist Barbara King’s first solo exhibition in Lynn despite previously exhibiting at galleries and shows throughout the county.
She said: “Journey through the stark colours of winter on snow-laden lanes with ice topped trees, stroll through the fresh hues of spring among vibrant green shoots and cowslip meadows.
“Go headlong into the light of summer as the sun dances on inlets and harbours, intensifying and enriching the colours of the countryside before dimming to the l ong shadows of autumn and mists and mellow fruitfulness.”
The exhibition will feature a selection of paintings by the Norwich-born artist which explore her affinity with the county through the ever-changing East Anglian skies and the wild beauty of the natural countryside.
The exhibition will be on display in the Old Warehouse Gallery at Lynn’s Arts Centre from tomorrow until next Saturday, open daily from 10am to 5pm.
