A village pub enjoyed a successful inaugural beer festival over the bank holiday weekend.

Real ale enthusiasts flocked to The Swan – also known as The Mucky Duck – at South Wootton, for the two-day sunshine event on Saturday and Sunday.

The pub’s owner, Alex Ponting, was delighted with the success of the event, where the pub sold out of all 18 real ales and the two scrumpy ciders it had to offer to drinkers.

He said he had decided the time was right this year to run a beer festival, adding: “We have had a fantastic response.”

The pub will be hosting a bungee jump during August when a crane will tower over the site.
