The King’s Lynn Festival Chorus, after their sublime performance of Handel’s Messiah last December, are now preparing for a concert of the best choral classics for their next concert.

Titled ‘Forte for Forty’, this 40th anniversary concert is on Saturday, April 8, at 7.30pm, at their home venue of St. Nicholas’ Chapel in King’s Lynn.

A spokesman of the Festival Chorus said: “Among the overflowing cornucopia of choral delights (most of them selected by the members) from our extensive repertoire are favourites such as ‘O Fortuna’ from Carmina Burana, a selection of opera choruses (the ones with the best tunes!) as well as Sanctus from the B minor Mass.

“There will also be a surprise or two but overall the concert will demonstrate why the Chorus is probably one of the best mixed choirs around in Norfolk.

“It’s going to be a most enjoyable evening and most definitely a concert with something for everyone!”

Tickets priced at £14 (under 18s free) are available from the Corn Exchange (tel 01553 764864) or online.

Seats in St Nicholas’ Chapel are zoned for this concert and it is advisable to book early to secure the zone of your choice.
