The search for a DJ winner continues in the Summer of DECKadence DJ Competition after three live rounds packed with talent were held at a Lynn nightspot.

Hosted by Chicago’s, the competition soared to new heights as DJs from across West Norfolk pitted their beats against each other and put their skills to the test.

Organiser Jay Evans said: “Round one saw a record Monday crowd in the bar and the judges were amazed by the quality of talent that took on the decks to battle it out for the chance to be crowned the winner.”

Round one winner and runner-up, DJ Hitchy and DJ Mark Farge, will join round two winner and runner-up, DJ K-LEE and DJ Duo Dill Farnham and Ben Major, in the quarter finals.

The winner will have the opportunity to play at Hunstanton’s Lifestyles Festival this September.

Monday night’s competition saw a combination of hardcore, bounce, urban and commercial house DJs competing for this coveted DJ spot in a heat that was broadcasted live across the region. From 9pm, the event was broadcasted through the website of Norfolk-based radio station, Vibe Radio UK, and via the TuneIn website and app.

Playing sets for the crowd were DJ Jamie Newton, who won the round, LeeVolution, Duo Wayne Stuart and Lee Lewis back-to-back and DJ Nelpin, who came second and has progressed to the quarter-finals.

Jay added: “Entry is free to support these local DJs and selected drinks are £2 throughout the whole competition, so definitely an excuse to get involved and support your favourites on a Monday.

“Judges throughout the competition are DJ Mark Malle who is representing Chicago’s, Pip Martin on behalf of Lifestyles Festival and Sharon Whaley from Sound Management, a local upcoming DJ agency.”

Head to Chicago’s on Monday night for the next instalment of the competition, with sets from DJ FLyzee, DJ Milky, DJ Legacy and Billy Keeble.
