King’s Lynn Photography Group are setting photographers across West Norfolk the challenge of Capturing King’s Lynn Through A Lens for a chance to win a one-to-one photography tutorial.

Tracey Robinson, who runs the group, has launched the competition to encourage those with an interest in photography to try their hand at it and get a taste for the group.

She said: “Hopefully the competition will get people looking around at Lynn and noticing things that they might not usually. It could help them to see a different side to the town.

“The competition is open to anyone who works at any level of photography, on any kind of camera, as long as the images have been taken either in Lynn.”

She added: “I’m hoping to attract those who might be put off by the traditional idea of a photography group because we are a fun group and are always going on trips out to try our skills.”

The competition is split into two categories for adults and under 17’s, and entry costs £2 per person, with a limit of two entries per person.

Entrants will be in with a chance of winning a three hour one-to-one photography session with Tracey on the subject of their choice if they scoop first place in either category. The runner-up prize for each is a two hour one-to-one session.

All images must be submitted to Tracey at one of the group’s meetings on a disk or memory stick so they can be added to her database for when they are judged.

Tracey said: “Large digital files only please, you will be saving by only paying £2 for entry and not having to pay to print and mount an image, and you will see the image larger on the projection screen.”

Entry forms will be filled in and all of the entries will be shown to all of the entrants on the Competition Evening which will be held on Tuesday, September 16, from 7-9pm, before the prizes are awarded.
