A party to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday brightened up a street in Swaffham on Sunday.

400 people joined the Oasis Centre’s Breckland Christian Fellowship in Cley Road for face-painting, Union Jack crafts and free tea and cake.

Amy Jeffery, member of the church, said: “So many people told us that events like this are very few these days and they were thrilled at a celebration in the street for free.”

Swaffham residents also enjoyed a quiz about the Queen, live music and a football penalty shoot-out competition.

Ms Jeffery added: “The whole church came together to offer the community a free event in celebration of the Queen.”
