A popular Lynn restaurant and hotel is hoping to expand if planners agree.
Anthony and Jeannette Goodrich are looking to spend £40,000 on extending The Bank House, in King’s Staithe Square.
The couple hope to soon cater for 140 diners if West Norfolk Council agrees to its remodelling.
Planning application have been lodged to increase the kitchen onto the terrace along with providing additional dining space.
The Bank House, which was built in the 18th century, could also looking to add an extra bedroom to take the total to 12.
Mr Goodrich, who has owned the site for seven years, said: “The Bank House is going really well with the number of people coming. We are spending this money on the business as a result of good trading. We have applied to extend the kitchen to cope with the demand we have for meals so this is a really positive thing.
“Our success is down to a combination of the natural beauty of the building, the location and good food.
“This is a really exciting time for businesses on the quayside and it is good for the town.”
The planning applications also include a request to reinstate the chimney in the bar.
The hotel has lodged full and listed planning applications to undertake the work.
