Third round of this year’s Twisted Melon Battle Of The Bands will be hosted by the Downham Market Club on Sunday from 4pm.
It’s the first afternoon heat of 2015 and Triston Finnis of Twisted Melon adds: “In the past our our Sunday heats have always been special and this looks to be no exception.
“This promises to be our most diverse and unusual heat of the whole competition featuring styles including acoustic folk, ‘indie, 50s rock ‘n’roll and brass!
“With two ties in the first two heats we already have four acts through to the semi-finals so competition is already hotting up.
“The Downham Market club is a brilliant music venue which has recently undergone a massive bar refurbishment. They are always fantastic hosts so we’re looking forward to giving them another feat of incredible musical talent and a packed venue.
“Although a members’ club this Sunday’s event is free entry and everyone is welcome including children.”
Here’s the line-up for Sunday’s third round:

With the sprightly melodies of the new pop pretenders and the dark lyrics of the alternative rock set, Lewis Murphy’s world is full of tensions and contrasts. A crippling fear of heights, but an ambition to play the roof of The Empire State building show that this British born and bred performer is trying to make sense of and conquer the restrictions of everyday life.
Drawing influence from Andy Murray and his work ethic, Lewis spends every waking moment submerging into lyric writing and recording demos, expanding experience and knowledge within his writing all the time. Think pop singing of Taylor Swift with the musical excellence of Ben Howard; now you’re heading into Lewis’s world.
The B Sides
Get ready for 50s rock ‘n’ roll brought bang up to date. The B Sides are influenced by the likes of Buddy Holly, Bill Haley, Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley and Chuck Berry.
Ashley (vocals), Stephen (guitar), Michael (bass) and Craig (drums) are a band that are guaranteed to get your pulse racing and feet tapping, covering a wide range of rock classics to delight all audiences.
Folk, rocker and singer songwriter Sam hails from Wymondham, Norfolk.
He uses his unique singing style to transform popular covers as well as showcasing his own songwriting skills. He’s also very partial to a spot of fishing, but don’t worry, he doesn’t write songs about that. Yet.
