Seasonal ghost story “Casting the Runes” is being staged at Downham Town Hall next Thursday, November 5.

It will be a tale to keep the audience gripped, and add a chill to the bones, even on Bonfire Night.

This production is staged by award-winning theatre company Box Tale Soup, supported by the arts and community development charity Creative Arts East.

Just two actors – Antonia Christophers and Noel Byrne, pictured above – and a haunting soundtrack of original music recreate M.R. James’ classic chiller.

In a thrilling race against time, Edward Dunning, an academic specialising in the occult, receives a strangely inscribed strip of paper. Can he unravel the mysterious message before the dark forces at his heel catch up with him?

“Casting the Runes” at the town hall will start at 7.30pm next Thursday and tickets at £7 are available from Lewks in Wales Court or call on 01366 383762.
