Festival Too has a new themed night for this mid-summer’s programme. “Back In The Day” will feature soul and dance acts from across the decades appearing at Lynn’s Tuesday Market Place on Friday, July 1.
Hosted by Lynn DJ Mark Purdy, the evening kicks off with St Clement’s High School from 7.30pm.
The all-star “Back In The Day” line-up continues with The Soft Tone Needles, Phats and Small, Kym Mazelle and soul super group Odyssey with their soul, funk and dance anthems as you re-live the best nights ever with an awesome mix of dance floor classics and cool retro grooves.
Festival Too then invites you to extend your night with the “Back In The Day” after-party at Lynn Corn Exchange.
Mark Purdy will be behind the decks playing soul, funk, disco, Motown and Northern Soul classics from 10.30pm until 12.30am.
There are a limited run of “early bird” tickets available at £5 each and these are on sale now from the Corn Exchange box office, with all proceeds going to Festival Too.
Mark Purdy said: “I have lived in King’s Lynn all my life and have been lucky enough to have DJ’d all over the country. I am extremely excited and proud to be representing the music I love in my home town at Festival Too. This is going to be one party that you do NOT want to miss!”
Festival Too chairman Bridget Nurse added: “We are pleased to add this themed night into the 2016 Festival Too programme and we are all looking forward to it and the after-show party.
“Mark is an expert in this type of music so it should be a great event and the after-show party will also bring in some much needed funding to secure free music to King’s Lynn in the future”
Festival Too launches on Saturday, June 25, with a free firework display and music on King Staithe Square. This is followed by two weekends of street entertainment in the town centre and live music on the Tuesday Market Place (July 1, 2, 3 and July 8 and 9).
