A model railway exhibition is being staged on Saturday, March 25, at the London Road Methodist Church in Lynn in aid of church funds.

The “Vintage Hornby Running Day” will be from 10am through to 3.30pm; entry is £3, accompanied children free, and refreshments will be available.

Vintage Hornby trains and much that goes to make a model railway were made by Meccano Ltd from 1920 until 1964, except during the Second World War. They were sold in all good toyshops in Britain, as well as abroad, mainly in the English-speaking countries as well as in Europe and South America.

Saturday’s display at London Road Methodist Church will feature both Hornby 0 gauge and Hornby-Dublo with both modern compatible and home-made items.

The exhibition will also feature a layout under construction to represent King’s Lynn port with both South Quay and the Boal Quay. It is also planned to include a small “drive-it-yourself” hands-on layout.

There is also a coffee morning from 10am-12noon.
