World-famous harpist Catrin Finch has devised a programme to show off the different styles of music written for the iconic instrument when she performs at King’s Lynn Festival.

Catrin’s recital at the Minster Church on July 27 at 7.30pm will be her second visit to Lynn Festival – the first was during her four years as Royal Harpist to the Prince of Wales, an ancient title she was honoured to revive in 2000 and which further raised her profile in a career which has seen her perform at concert halls all over the world.

“There will be a mix of works including music by Bach, Debussy and Piazzola which provide as broad a picture as I can of different styles to provide a variety of interest. The programme will include music composed by harpists who can best show what a harp can do,” she said.

As well as recitals and performances with orchestras, Catrin is currently pursuing a variety of projects. “I am into lots of genres and am currently composing a work to be performed at the National Eisteddfod of Wales,” she said.
