With opening night just a few days away, the King’s Lynn Players are almost ready for the West Norfolk premiere of The Addams Family.

Chairman Chris Fox said: “The rehearsals are coming to an end and we are really looking forward to our run next week. We have been trying out costumes, wigs and make-up to create the morbid, macabre world of the Addams Family.”

Tickets are selling well for the show which opens next Wednesday, October 28, at the Guildhall of St George in the King’s Lynn Arts Centre.

Chris added: “The Guildhall makes the perfect setting as the spirits of the Addams family ancestors join in their annual ritual to connect with their past and ensure their future.”

The Players are delighted to perform this new musical comedy for the first time in West Norfolk and they have a new director this year in Sara-Jane Brennock.

She said: “This is an exciting opportunity for me to bring my vision to life. The cast are amazing and I truly believe it is going to be a fantastic show – one that King’s Lynn has never seen before.”

In the show, Wednesday Addams, ultimate princess of darkness, has fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man her parents have never met. Wednesday confides in her father Gomez and begs him not to tell her mother.

He must keep the secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything changes for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s ‘normal’ boyfriend and his parents.

Secrets are revealed, relationships are tested, but can love conquer all?

Sara-Jane said: “You will have to come along to the Guildhall to find out more.

“We cannot promise you a ‘normal night’ but can guarantee that you will laugh, cry and much, much more as we introduce the entire Addams Family.”

The Addams Family runs at the Guildhall of St George, King’s Lynn, from next Wednesday to Saturday, October 31, nightly at 7.30pm, with a matinee on the Saturday at 2.30pm.

Tickets are priced £12 and family/group rates are available.
