Its time for Heat 2 of Battle of the Bands – and Twisted Melon’s event makes its first ever appearance at St Germans tomorrow when the Crown and Anchor plays host to what we expect to be another packed event.
Theres something special about taking Battle Of The Bands out to the villages.
Triston Finnis ,of Twisted Melon, said: “As well as showcasing the local music to the whole of West Norfolk, the venues don’t have the same age restrictions as town centre pubs. I strongly believe you shouldn’t have to be 18 to enjoy great live music.
“This heat features acts from all corners of the region with representatives from Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Norfolk performing a diverse mix of genres including pop, folk, rock, soul, country and hip hop!”
The gig is from 7.30pm, it has free entry and all ages are welcome.
A reminder that at the first heat the honours went to Fazed and Falling From Trees as the joint winners.
Acts progressing from the heats will go head to head on air in the KL.FM semi-final show.
A combination of judging panel and listener votes will decide which six acts progress to the grand final which is a massive event and spectacle in itself.
Finally the winner and runner up will win the right to perform in front of over 10,000 people at this summer’s Festival Too.
Other great prizes include recording time with Capsize Audio Productions, photo shoot, band merch as well as opportunities to perform at other great festivals.

Here are the four acts appearing at the Crown & Anchor:
A singer/songwriter from Norfolk playing a host of original material and covers. He probably engages with the crowd more than any other performer on the local circuit adding comedy and personality to his set.
Plying his trade originally with Birkenhed and Under The Influence among other bands, Jay is now concentrating on his solo career, recently releasing his debut EP White Lies & Alibi’s as well as new single You Don’t Love Me Anymore.
Finding Ana are a four-piece rock band from Cambridgshire blending melodic lyrics with precision guitar work, boasting influences from the likes of Incubus and Iron Maiden.
The group features lead singer and guitarist Drew Girling, Andy Webster on guitar, bassist Dan Barnes and Chris Argent is the drummer.
Excelling in the live setting, Finding Ana plays to audiences around the region, they have recorded a live set at the Metal For Max event as well as having a full set broadcast on Cam FM’s breakthrough show.
The Buccaneers are proudly flying the flag for Downham Market. They are an acoustic trio consisting of lead singer, Daisy, her dad Shane on the drums and their best friend Simon on guitar.
They play an amazingly diverse mix of covers from Dolly Parton and Johnny Cash to Lily Allen, Paloma Faith and Kasabian!
The Stretch Soul Gang
Stretch Soul Gang are a funk/hip-hop quintet formed in the gritty bowels of Suffolk. They take a pinch of funk, soul and hip-hop then throw them in a big ol’ pot, cookin’ up some tasty grooves.
They’ll be serving up a fresh helping when the time is right, so the advice is to bring a fork.
