The hugely popular Wootton Picnic On The Park returns on Saturday – and that means fingers crossed for good weather.

From 1pm right through to 8pm there will be entertainment for all the family including live music, fairground rides, stalls, dog show, food and refreshments.

The musical feast includes the amazing Pirate Joe who last year performed at Glastonbury Festival. His act has to be seen to be believed.

Brilliant folk duo Arias Echo consisting of sisters Georgia and Maddi take to the stage at 5pm and their harmonies cannot be missed.

Kicking the day off will be local act Meadow Lane while acoustic act Simon Benefer, indie pop act Among The Citizens and headliners Sacred Nations will be looking for votes as they are all semi finalists in the 2016 Twisted Melon Battle Of The Bands.

There is free entry to the event at Wootton Park, together with free parking at nearby North Wootton School, with a gate on to the field (however, donations to the school PTA will be welcome).
