A book detailing the first 50 years of King’s Lynn Male Voice Choir has gone on sale. It was given a special launch on Saturday at True’s Yard Museum in Lynn, where the author Brian Chase was joined by choir members and officials.

Brian is a founder member and the current president and he was helped in the production of the book by his daughter Sarah.

Over the years he has kept minutes of meetings, and concert programmes, which helped as he delved into the history of the choir from its formation in 1957 through to 2007.

The chairman, Anne Greeves, said: “Brian spent a lot of time on the book and he has done a very good job. It is very informative.”

In her other roles Anne is the choir’s accompanist and also assistant musical director, and she joked: “I do try to keep them in order!”

The choir’s next concert is on Saturday, April 22, at Gayton church.

“The King’s Lynn Male Voice Choir” by Brian Chase is a True’s Yard publication and copies of the book are now on sale at the museum priced £5.
