Hanse House on Lynn’s South Quay is hosting a new exhibition by South Norfolk artists Clive Brookes and friends, featuring a number of graphic art pieces and sculpture – and pictured above is one of the paintings on display “Along the Suffolk coast, Minsmere” by Richard Motley.

Brookes, the Norwich-born artist is also well known for his paintings, drawings and ceramics which follow a number of themes including population, weather, disease and the effect they have on the environment.

He said: I am thrilled to have been given this opportunity to show my work here in the wonderful Hanse House Gallery and would like to thank Christina Lee and her superb team for all their help.”

Joining him are three fellow members of the Norfolk and Norwich Art Circle, which will be celebrating its 130th anniversary in 2015.

Experience the grandeur of Richard Motley’s landscapes, the abstract beauty of Jan Motley’s natural lino prints and the atmospheric paintings of Janet Harrison.

The exhibition continues this month, daily 10am to 4pm and admission is free; there are two “meet the artists” sessions – next Thursday and again on Wednesday, October 22, both from 11am to 3pm.
