The doors of Lynn Museum will be open from 5-7pm on Friday – when visitors will have the opportunity to see the museum as never before at a secret-cinema-style event culminating in a special film screening.

Cathead, made by Lynn Museum Youth Forum in 2014, was inspired by one of Lynn Museum’s most beloved objects, the large carved wooden cat head in the current Art of the Mart exhibition, which is pictured.

The one-off event, which is being put on as part of the national Museums at Night campaign, will include a special museum trail, activities and refreshments. Admission is free, but booking is essential and to book a place you should call on 01553 775001.

Museums at Night is a twice-yearly UK-wide festival which seeks to encourage visitors into museums, galleries and heritage sites by throwing their doors open after hours and putting on special evening events.

It ties in with the European campaign, La Nuit Des Musées, and takes place on the weekend nearest to May 18 which is International Museums Day.
