Shakespeare events at the Westacre Theatre continue on Saturday with a record-breaking marathon challenge – and you could be part of it.
To mark the 400th anniversary year of the Bard’s death, the aim is to read the complete works of Shakespeare in exactly 400 minutes.
The theatre is still looking for willing readers as there are at least 40 plays to get through and you still have just enough time to book your place on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
But you need to call the box office at Westacre Theatre as quickly as you can on 01760 755800 to reserve your place.
This challenge will start at 12 noon on Saturday and must finish at 6.40pm precisely.
It is a record-breaking marathon if ever there was one and it promises to be a really memorable afternoon for everyone involved. You can read a part in one play or as many as you like.
With several works being recited simultaneously, the event requires perfect organisation, so it is important that anyone keen to take part gives Westacre Theatre a call before turning up.
And after all that page-turning, what better way to totally unwind than over a barbecue supper?
Continuing the Shakespeare theme, there are two live screenings from the RSC – Cymbeline on September 28 and King Lear on Wednesday, October 12.
