Drama students have been given a unique opportunity to spend the summer working in the award-winning Westacre Theatre as applications open for the theatre’s bursary scheme.

This year marks the eighth summer that Westacre Theatre has run its innovative and unique Bursary Scheme for young performing arts and drama undergraduates, and this year it could be you getting to spend the summer learning at the theatre.

With just one week until the deadline for applications, the theatre is offering undergraduates with a home in the Norfolk area the opportunity to experience every aspect of a working theatre including performing on stage, backstage work, stage management, operating lights and sound, creating set and costumes as well as assisting with the popular holiday drama workshops .

One student said: “Westacre summers have given me invaluable experience. I can’t give enough thanks for the opportunity. It’s simply brilliant.”

Previous bursary students have gone on to work in the industry in touring theatre companies, regional theatres and the West End.

Another student commented: “It was fantastic to be given the opportunity to act and work in a professional environment and with such a wonderful team of people.”

It is not too late to request an application form – if you are an undergraduate studying drama or performing arts at a university or drama school and you have a home base in the Norfolk area then you are eligible.

Don’t miss your chance to work with a theatre company with an outstanding regional reputation in the heart of rural West Norfolk.

Just email bursary@westacretheatre.com or call 01760 755007 for an application form. All applications must be submitted by March 22.
