King’s Lynn Players are putting the final touches to their next production, The Graduate, which is being staged at the Guildhall of St George in the King’s Lynn Arts Centre next week.
And in today’s competition we have four pairs of tickets for the play – just read on.
Chris Fox, chairman of King’s Lynn Players, said: “The Players always aim to offer to our audiences different theatrical experiences. This year we are presenting the iconic play, The Graduate, based on the cult novel written by Charles Webb. Players’ stalwart Carol Storey plays the seductive Mrs Robinson opposite a newcomer to the Players, David Martin.”
Disillusioned 21-year-old Benjamin Braddock, a recent college graduate with no clear aim in life, is seduced by older woman Mrs Robinson and then proceeds to fall in love with her daughter Elaine. The stage production takes the audience on the journey through Benjamin’s disastrous sexual odyssey.
As well as its cult status as a novel, The Graduate is also one of the most beloved American films of all time. It earned Mike Nichols a best director Oscar, brought the music of Simon & Garfunkel to a wider audience, and introduced the world to a young actor named Dustin Hoffman.
The Graduate opens at the Arts Centre on Thursday, March 17, at 7.30pm; it continues nightly at 7.30pm on Friday 18th and Saturday 19th, with a 2.30pm matinee on the Saturday. Tickets are £10 and are available from the Box Office on 01553 764684.
