The Hunstanton and District Festival of Arts 2014 Christmas Tree Festival is set to open at the Town Hall next Friday, with a stunning display of decorated trees entered by local groups.

Groups including the Guides, schools and various charities have designed their own, some very original, trees, and there will be around 25 on display in the festival. Visitors are asked to vote for their favourite tree and the one with the most votes will win a cash prize for its sponsor, plus each tree will also have its own collection box.

Entry is free, and there will be music, mulled wine and mince pies on offer for a donation.

n St Nicholas Church at Dersingham has its Christmas Tree Festival today, tomorrow and Sunday.

There is also a Christmas market in the church hall and a fundraising concert by the Bilton Silver Band (as we reported last week).

Details of timings are given on our Events Listings pages.

n For those who fancy heading further along the North Norfolk coast, Sheringham Park will be holding a Christmas Trail and Craft event tomorrow and Sunday, from 11am to 3pm.

Start your preparations for Christmas with a real family activity. Get into the Christmas spirit by following a seasonal trail to the learning centre where you will be provided with materials to make wreath or Yule Log to take away. £5 per craft made.
