Burghley House, near Stamford, has played host to some magnificent acts over the past few years including Midge Ure, Status Quo, UB40 and Jools Holland.
This summer sees the iconic Bryan Ferry in concert on Saturday, June 11, and in today’s competition we have a pair of tickets to win … just read on.
From his earliest recordings with Roxy Music at the beginning of the 70s, Bryan Ferry has taken his place as one of the most iconic and innovative artists to emerge in popular music.
In his work you hear a vocal and lyrical brilliance that merges the intensity of Lou Reed to the poise of Sinatra, but then there is something extra… a verve and performance so ultra-modern that he continually breaks new ground.
“He has established an outstanding image and sartorial style, in common with the late David Bowie,” said The Independent .
With Roxy Music, Bryan Ferry enjoyed three number one hits and 10 top ten hits including Virginia Plain, Love is a Drug, Dance Away, Angel Eyes and Jealous Guy.
Solo hits have included A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall, Let’s Stick Together and This is Tomorrow.
Bryan’s 14th solo album, Avonmore, was hailed as a ‘modern classic’ and in 2012 Bryan Ferry was honoured when he was awarded the CBE for his services to the music industry.
His two nights at the London Palladium last month once again wowed the public and press alike, and now Bryan is heading for Burghley House, prior to his summer tour of the USA.
