Rehearsals are well under way for the children’s choir who will be performing at Lynn Corn Exchange this month in the hit musical Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
There are 50 children involved and they have been split into two teams to join Joe McElderry and the West End cast on stage for all the performances.
All the children auditioned for their part in the choir and are now being put through their paces by Sara-Jane Brennock, from Studio 19 in Lynn.
She said: “The children are working really hard for this unique opportunity. It’s fantastic for the local children to be on stage with a professional team and production.”
This vibrant and exciting retelling of the biblical story about Joseph, his eleven brothers and the coat of many colours sings out to young and old alike with a score which is crammed wall to wall with hits, including Jacob and Sons, Close Every Door and Any Dream Will Do. It has garnered sensational reviews and standing ovations at performances around the world since its inception almost 35 years ago. Bill Kenwright’s brilliant production of this sparkling family musical – with lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber – has now sold an estimated 20 million tickets.
Here at Lynn a couple of the shows are already sold out but there is still plenty of time to get your tickets; the show opens on Tuesday, March 15, and the final performance is on Saturday, March 19.
