Magnificent 7 ride into Fourville
Rootin’ tootin’ members of the Fourville Players get ready to perform Panto at the OK Corral at Pott Row Village Hall next week. Pictured, front from left, are: Hatty Nichols (Jane) and Ashleigh Moore (Clint Westwood). Back, from left, are: Rick Elsegood (James the Jessie), Pete Coleman (Dame Winnie Pegg), Barry Jarvis (Sheriff Small Holding), Emma Whitmore (Butch Casserole) and Emily Nichols (the Sun-Tanned Kid).
A West Norfolk drama group will be swapping Cinderella and Snow White for cowboys and indians when it performs a panto with a difference next week.
Members of Pott Row-based Fourville Players will turn into the panto stars of the spaghetti western at a saloon-swivelling, rootin’ tootin’ performance of Panto at the OK Corral.
Pott Row Village Hall will be transformed into the little-known western town of Deadwood Gulch for the show, being held from Wednesday to Saturday at 7.30pm. There is also a matinée performance on Saturday, but tickets for that have already sold out.
Clint Westwood, performed by Ashleigh Moore, rides into town looking for the wicked Sheriff Small Holding, played by Barry Jarvis, to seek revenge for earlier misdeeds.
As he arrives, the Sheriff’s deputies Butch Casserole (Emma Whitmore) and the Sun-Tanned Kid (Emily Nichols), are trying to throw a family off their ranch – Dame Winnie Pegg (Pete Coleman), her daughter Jane (Hatty Nichols), son James the Jessie (Rick Elsegood) and their horse Lightning.
Will Clint save the day and get the girl? Or will Winnie sell up and mosey on out of town? Will Lightning end up as a meat pie? Will Butch Casserole and Sun-Tanned Kid ever do anything right? All these and other questions will be answered at the OK Corral.
The show, produced and directed by Jan Willson, includes all the music, laughter and audience participation you would expect from a traditional panto, but with a twist.
So swagger into this western town, and prepare to be entertained! Tickets for the evening shows, priced at £5 (£4 concessions), are available from Emma Whitmore on 01553 636185.

The tribute band covers the history of the Rolling Stones from 1963 through to the stadium gigs of the 1980s, with the show blending live renditions of the Stones’ music with the replica costumes, trademark dance moves, much onstage banter, and, of course, the wigs!

The band is made up of Nick Dagger, who is played by Steve Elson, Keef Rickard by Pete Whittard, Charlie Mott by John Prynn and Bill Hymen by Alan Mian Bryon Jones, Mick Taylor-Made and Ronnie B Goose are played by David Birnie, and finally Stu, Nicky Popkiss and Chuck Ravel by Charlie Evans.
They are all guitar teachers and session musicians who have dedicated much of their spare time to studying and recreating the mannerisms, costumes and repertoire of the Stones.
