Local people turned out in their droves for a charity ball at Lynn's Corn Exchange.
The evening, which attracted 233 people, was organised by Tony and Karen Stevens in aid of the People's Dispensary for Sick Animals (PDSA) and East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH).

The event, on Saturday, May 24, comprised of a two-course meal, provided by West Norfolk's Flying Chef, followed by dancing to Phase One roadshow.

Other attractions included close-up magician David Willmott, from Bristol, silhouette artist Alison Russell and star cabaret Paul Zerdin.

There was also a raffle with 32 prizes including signed photographs of EastEnders cast members.

Mr and Mrs Stevens, of Wootton Road, Gaywood, first organised a charity ball four years ago to mark their silver wedding.

The event proved such a success that they have held them for good causes ever since.

"We hope to have raised £2,500 this year," said Mrs Stevens, who said the evening had been "brilliant".
