West Norfolk youngsters escaped the modern world and stepped back in time during a fun-filled activity day.
The event, held at South Lynn scout hut last week, gave children the chance to learn about life in the prehistoric times and get stuck into making their own mammoth models.

Around 25 young historians and their parents went along and the activities were organised by the Norfolk Museum Service.

Community outreach officer Stuart Hall: "We took along some real mammoth bones so the children could hold them and get an idea of the size of the animals. They also had the chance to learn about the mythology surrounding them."

In the afternoon, a further 25 youngsters learned all about the Vikings, trying their hand at a number of crafts including jewellery making.
