All our Yesterdays: Christmas Day swimmers brave the cold in Hunstanton

December 2014: This was the scene as swimmers gathered on the Hunstanton promenade ahead of their chilly festive dip.
December 2014: Town mayor Carol Bower, left, gives a cheery wave before joining the swimmers in the sea. Afterwards she said: “It was fantastic. It was so crowded it was difficult to get off the beach, but it was all extremely well organised by the Round Table.”

On Christmas Day morning, registration will be between 10am and 10.30am, with judging of the fancy dress competition at 10.50am. The start time is 11am with a parade of swimmers along the prom and out to the start point. Afterwards, hot soup will be available from outside the Marine Bar free for all swimmers, a warm shower at Alive Oasis and the presentation of certificates at Alive Oasis reception.
