Well woman clinic at womb temperature
So the new year is going well thus far and we are all surprised at the cold weather even though it happens every year.
I love the winter cold and ice. Maybe I am just a cold person and I have to make an admission that I miss Christmas when it’s over.
But, like the seasons, we must move on. Although I have just been down to Wild Ken Hill (WKH) to visit the presenters for BBC Winterwatch which is always a treat.
Chris Packham very kindly spoke to my friend’s daughter Rosie who admires him greatly. As reported in Tuesday’s Lynn News, she was diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder and is studying animal care so sees CP as a real idol.
It was great to see her jaw drop when she spotted him as it was a complete surprise. It made me feel all warm and fuzzy, having helped to arrange it with the BBC and WKH, which was helpful as it was freezing down at the farm.
I’ve come hurtling into January seeing shows and productions.
The Pocahontas Players put on a good pantomime with a great pantomime cow and I saw a comedy club for kids, the first show of its kind at Alive Corn Exchange.
So they both dispelled the myth of never working with children or animals.
Friends of mine are getting married this year so bridesmaid dress shopping has happened. Co-ordinating all the bridesmaids to find a dress that we all liked and suits everyone was actually fairly seamless so it will be great once the day comes around.
There have been some positive stories about people taking back control of their weight issues and getting healthy, which is always good.
I, too, have an appointment with the Well Woman Clinic and it is vital we look after our health.
Now that I have Netflix I spend a lot of my time trying to decide what to watch on the telly box. I flick through for about an hour and then settle on Midsomer Murders which of course I can watch on ‘normal’ tv.
Actually I did watch a documentary about Jade Goody, the Big Brother reality star who died young from cervical cancer.
It serves as a reminder to have a cervical smear and get checked. I understand it can be daunting and unpleasant but even though I hate them. If I can do it then anyone can.
So, all in all, January has been a cold month but with warmth from unexpected events. Not just a log fire in the evening but doing things for others that make a difference. Being the person that makes someone’s day.
Now that is heartwarming in these cold times.
