King's Lynn charity 8:56 Foundation, Lynn News' charity of the year celebrates latest fundraising activities

The 8:56 Foundation, the West Norfolk-based men’s wellbeing organisation, is celebrating its latest fundraising initiatives.

More than £1,750 was raised on Sunday, March 26 at the Alive 856 Cup, bringing together mental health and sporting organisations from across the county.

The money raised will support programmes including Men’s Time activities, Talking Therapy and a new suicide awareness course which is planned to be offered at It’s Time to Talk campaign clubs across West Norfolk.

Captains showcased armbands branded with the 8:56 logo, helping to ensure the ethos of the organisation is carried through the game.

A further £250 was raised at the Swimarathon at St James Pool and the Lynn branch of SIG Roofing held a raffle and collection at their trade day last week which raised an additional £200.

Matthew Oakes, chairman at 8:56 Foundation, said: “We would like to thank all the teams who participated in the Alive 856 Cup this weekend.
