In his weekly Memory Lane Schooldays column, Chris Hornby looks back to February 2014...

Children at the Glebe School and Nursery in Hunstanton set off for a charity walk on a wet and windy Valentine’s Day in February 2014 to raise money for Lynn’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital’s Healthy Hearts Campaign.

Some 75 children, 38 adults and scores of dogs walked from the school to Holme village hall where there was a break for lunch.

Despite the weather conditions, the older pupils then walked back to the school, covering about six-and-a-half miles.

The idea for the walk, designed to highlight the hospital’s campaign, came from the school’s Parents’ Committee and it was held on Valentine’s Day to reinforce the healthy heart message.
