North Wootton Village Hall annual Christmas Fair on December 3 aims to be biggest-ever

North Wootton Village Hall’s annual Christmas Fair will take place on Saturday, December 3 and organisers are hoping it will be the biggest they have ever held.

There will be a craft market featuring an array of stalls selling Christmas decorations, gifts, and locally sourced and produced food and drink. Freshly cut, locally grown Christmas trees will be on sale, and thanks to funding from the National Lottery, this year there will be free live entertainment from The Ukulele Elves and local singer, Claire Scollay.

Antony Lamb, the village hall’s events organiser, said: “The Christmas Fair always marks the start of the festive season and with so much talk of a hard winter ahead of us, we wanted the community to be able to come together regardless of financial situations and other barriers.

"Entry to the Christmas Fair is free, and thanks to the funding from the National Lottery, we are able to provide free entertainment on the day, free workshops for villagers to attend, free transport to and from local care homes, and extra festive lights and decorations for the village to enjoy for the rest of the season.”

The event will be attended by West Norfolk Mayor, Councillor Lesley Bambridge and the raffle has been well supported by local businesses with prizes including £50 shopping vouchers from Adrian Flux Insurance, two family tickets to Luminate Sandringham, £20 voucher for Eric’s Fish and Chips in Thornham, luxury food hampers, tickets for entry to Sandringham House and Gardens, and more.

Antony continued: “We hope this will be the biggest Christmas Fair yet – we are now in our sixth year and really want to make it a day for the local community to soak up the festive atmosphere.”

As in previous years, the Christmas Fair will culminate with the switching on of the village hall’s Christmas lights. Parking is available at The Woottons Surgery, also on Priory Lane.

All proceeds from the Christmas Fair go to North Wootton Village Hall, a registered charity, and used towards the upkeep and ongoing refurbishment of the hall.
