Lady Glenconner, author of ‘Lady in Waiting’, ‘Murder on Mustique’ and ‘A Haunting at Holkham’, back at Holkham Hall this Christmas to launch latest book, ‘Whatever Next?’ with ITV News Anglia’s David Whiteley
Lady Glenconner, best-selling author of ‘Lady in Waiting’, ‘Murder on Mustique’ and ‘A Haunting at Holkham’ will be back at Holkham Hall this Christmas to celebrate the launch of her latest book, ‘Whatever Next?’.
Joined by ITV News Anglia’s David Whiteley, Lady Glenconner will be reflecting on and revealing more about her long and unexpected life, her turbulent and difficult marriage and the lessons learned. Now in her 90th year, and at her happiest, her bracing honesty, characteristic wit and courage will inspire all to stay open to every new adventure.
‘In Conversation With Lady Glenconner’ is taking place on Thursday, December 29 from 2-4.30pm in the Lady Elizabeth Wing at Holkham. Tickets cost £45 which includes a drink on arrival and a signed copy of ‘Whatever Next?’.
On arrival to Holkham, guests are invited to the Lady Elizabeth Wing to enjoy a glass of prosecco or a soft drink before taking their seats where an insight into the novel and more in-depth look at Lady Glenconner’s private life will be revealed. The event will finish with a Q&A session and additional copies of the book will also be available to purchase at the event.
Holkham has a rich and magnificent history and for Lady Glenconner it has touched every aspect of her life. Born the eldest daughter of the 5th Earl of Leicester on 16th July 1932, Anne Veronica Coke was a regular playmate of young Princess Elizabeth and Princess Margaret, neighbours at nearby Sandringham House.
About her new book ‘Whatever Next?’, Lady Glenconner says: “I decided to write this book as I have had so much correspondence from readers and people who have seen me on television – all encouraging me to write more. Whatever Next covers many things I thought were left unsaid in my first book and the life lessons learned.”
For the last decade, stately home Holkham has opened its doors to locals and visitors for an exuberance of festive delights and this year’s Christmas programme is no exception, full of magical experiences to share with friends and family.
Christmas celebrations will commence from Thursday, December 1, when Lady Glenconner will also be holding a book signing in the Courtyard Café gift shop at Holkham from 2-4pm.
