Garden makeover at Greyfriars Primary School in King’s Lynn back in 2012

In our weekly Memory Lane Schooldays feature we look back to a garden makeover in 2012…

An overgrown garden at Greyfriars Primary School in Lynn was given a make-over at the end of the summer term in 2012.

It was thanks to a team of 20 volunteers from Mars Foods who went along to rejuvenate the garden by using ideas put forward by the pupils.

Staff based at the Mars plant in Lynn added raised gardens, seating and a wildlife area, along with clearing a pond.

Teachers said they were looking forward to the start of the new term in September when the children would be able to start growing their own vegetables.

Children, school staff and Mars Food workers are pictured here ahead of the garden make-over.
