Apparently, better to keep on moving
One supposes when one gets to a certain age one has aches and pains which start to become the norm.
I have had terrible back ache and though the desire is to lie down and try to find a comfortable position,
apparently it is better to keep moving.
A bit like life in general hey?
They say to only look back to see how much progress you’ve made.
Be a moving target. It’s all good advice but really I just want to lie down.
Now I have reached that certain age where talking about aches and pains can dominate the conversation and it is no different for me.
I will be 48 this year so I really need to get a grip, put my big girl’s pants on and woman up.
The back ache seems to have just happened and I can see no real reason for it.
My new shoes have a slight heel but I am sure they wouldn’t cause it, though sitting down for long periods of time is not good. I do love lounging about so I guess it’s my own good fault.
Next week I go on a youth holiday which is full of active based activities.
Notice multiple uses of the work active. Perhaps it will do me good.
Although it hardly counts as a relaxing holiday in the Mediterranean with sun, sea and mocktails.
It’s a narrow camp bed or if really unlucky an inflatable mattress that deflated during the night.
No glamour here. But it’s rewarding and I am used to it having been going for 35 years or so. Man and girl.
I will be leading line dancing, though I shall no doubt need to sit it out while some younger more agile dancers take on the routine.
At least it’s not the jive, what with my bad back. I do love going on about it.
I feel I am an independent woman but I had to ask for help for my parcels to be taken to the post office due to my condition. It’s an absolute tragedy I tell you.
I can’t wait for the back pain to end just so I don’t have to listen to the sound of my own voice complaining about it.
But it put things into perspective.
Anyhow, enough about me.
You may have read in the Lynn News about Mark Laws who has aimed to run, walk and roll the spine of Britain from south to north in aid of Spinal Research.
As a lifelong rugby player he is grateful that he has never suffered a serious injury where some players can end up paralysed.
So even though I have a bad back at the moment I can keep things in perspective.
Keep on moving.
