Motorbikes are the best way to travel

It occurred to me that I have not travelled on a train since the pandemic.

I do like trains as a form of transport and used to commute around London on a regular basis.

But since the pandemic I have found no real reason to get on a train and actually I do not really feel I want to.

For some reason I am less inclined to want to travel, maybe it is as a result of the pandemic or that I am just lazy.

But staying put has become something I quite like, feeling settled and not necessarily needing to take flight.

I will happily never step on an aeroplane again either and feel my travelling days were fun while I wanted to see more of the world.

I have managed to get through quite a few places in alphabetical order.

Amsterdam, Bangkok.

Actually I am stuck at C but I have been to a fair few places in my life, flying across the world so feel it is okay to stay put.

Motorbikes are my favoured mode of transport as I don’t get travel sick.

As reported in my Eat My Words review of the Three Horseshoes pub it was a great bimble out although it was pretty cold.

We got to Hunstanton just as the sun was setting and I couldn’t feel my toes.

The tea place had already closed so we headed home to a warm house instead.

I have recently bought myself a motorbike as before the pandemic it was on my list of things to achieve.

My ever so patient partner is a biker and so we have a mutual love of the open road, bimbling around and about the back roads of West Norfolk.

Apart from the pigeon that flew straight at him and he ducked and I leaned and there were feathers everywhere is the only time we’ve had a fright.

Although the woeful driving of some car drivers pulling out in front of us can be frustrating.

This is very much biker’s country so it is important to remember that there are bikes around now that the daylight is here and the sun will be out.

I look forward to the annual Norfolk Goldwings light parade in Sunny Hunny as mentioned in the Lynn News’ What’s On section.

Hopefully, I will be able to attend in my leathers. Funnily enough, as I’ve been eating the leftover choccies from Christmas I struggled to get into my leather trousers when we went out. There is just no give in them. C for cholesterol being too high perhaps.

That is my excuse anyway and, perhaps, the delicious three-course pub lunch.
