Memory Lane School Days: Taking a look back at North Wootton garden opening from 2016
In our weekly Memory Lane Schooldays feature, we look back at a primary school’s garden opening from nine years ago…
North Wootton Community School welcomed Borough Mayor and Mayoress David and Linda Whitby to open its new garden area in July 2016.
It was the result of hard work over several months by the PTA committee, with the kind support of several local companies, with an area of neglected ground transformed into the new garden.
It featured raised beds for the children to plant some seasonal fruits and vegetables, and the school had lots of fresh produce ready for harvesting, including strawberries and raspberries.
From September, the school intended to timetable the garden for use by the pupils who could use the garden to enhance their learning over a wide range of topics and subjects.
