King's Lynn Town Band celebrate 100 years in The Walks in May 1994 – Memory Lane & All Our Yesterdays

Lynn Town Band unveiled their smart new jackets in May 1994, on the day the new borough mayor, Bryan Howling, unveiled a brass plaque to celebrate their 100 years in the town.

Band secretary Janet Elvin – who played second baritone (similar to a euphonium) confirmed they had donned the new uniform to coincide with the special occasion at the bandstand in The Walks.

Around 28 members watched the unveiling and heard Mr Howling congratulate them on their achievements and to wish them well for the future. And then the music began, with the band giving its first concert of the year in the town. Photo: MLNF-9405209
