While these children at Fincham School looked happy indoors in January, 1976, outdoors the worst blizzards for years were causing chaos in West Norfolk.
Judging by the smiling faces, lessons had changed a great deal since the school was built in 1848.
Although the main part of the building was old, and built of golden carrstone, various additions had been over the years to bring it up to date.
The small number of village children enabled staff to cover a wide range of subjects and the school was always well represented at athletics competitions.
