Facing the Lynn News camera in February, 1976, are these pupils at St Edmund’s Primary School in Lynn.
At that time they all had the opportunity to attend classes before they started school, to get used to their new surroundings.
Most of these children, from the first four classes, had attended with their mothers before their first “big day”.
Mrs K J Farrow, the headmistress of the 240-pupil school, said: “We have established a very good relationship with the parents and they often come to school to help out on special occasions.
