Brancaster Primary School, Royal Norfolk Show, farmer Coke of Holkham, crop rotation

Memory Lane Schools, Friday, July 7

Brancaster Primary School was one of just five schools in the county to display its work on the education initiative stand at the Royal Norfolk Show in July 1999.

The quality of the infants’ studies of pioneering farmer Coke of Holkham – famous for his crop rotation ideas to increase production and improve soil fertility – impressed the show organisers so much they invited the children to show their work in public.

This group of pupils were special visitors to the show to see their work on display and also to take part in the educational schools’ trail which helped guide school parties around the showground.
