Memory Lane: Walks welcome for Noel Edmonds

By Chris Hornby

Television personality Noel Edmonds signs autographs for the crowd at the Lynn May Day Gala, held at Lynn Walks on Sunday, May 2, 1982.

With him are Mrs Pam Dewar, from London, the country’s first transplant patient, Keith Castle, Britain’s longest surviving heart transplant patient, Nigel Olney and Mrs Belinda Price.

The event was held to raise funds for Papworth Hospital, with Edmonds arriving in his own helicopter and landing in the grounds of nearby King Edward VII High School.
