Memory Lane Schooldays: Looking back at King’s Lynn’s Eastgate Primary School in 1998
In our weekly Memory Lane Schooldays feature, we take a look back at a primary school receiving new sports equipment in 1998…
Friends of Eastgate Primary School in Lynn presented pupils with new football and netball strips worth more than £300 in June 1998.
The money had been raised through car boot sales, bingo evenings, a summer fete and the Christmas fair.
Trudi Hodgkinson, the Friends’ treasurer, said: “The school suggested what was needed for the children and we worked really hard to get it.
Members of the football team played really well last season, and we wanted to encourage them and the netball players too.”
The next project for the Friends was to raise money for new information technology equipment for the school.
