Pupils at Whitefriars Primary School in Lynn perform Christmas play in December 2000

In our weekly Schooldays Nostalgia feature, we look back to December 2000...

Pupils at Whitefriars Primary School in Lynn performed their Christmas play called ‘What Is Precious?’ just before the end of term in December 2000.

All the children from the six infant classes were involved in the play about three fairies who wanted to be in charge of decorating the Christmas tree – but only wanting to use the best decorations, putting old, but precious items away in a reject box.

The story continued with an explanation of the real meaning of Christmas and the birth of Christ, which is more important than cards and presents.

Costumes worn by the children pictured here were made by classroom supporters.
