Reffley classroom date for Tom the builder: Memory Lane Schooldays

North Wootton bricklayer Tom Sharp is pictured at Reffley Primary School, Lynn, in May 1992, when he chatted to pupils about some of his designs which had become talking points around West Norfolk.

The youngsters were involved in an environmental project and wanted to hear about Tom’s environmentally-friendly work.

They each wrote him a letter inviting him to the school and he went along with pictures of some of his designs.

These included the Lynnsport “bus stop” which can be seen in the foreground. He told the children some funny stories and also read the story of Brian the Brick.

Tom and his daughter Hayley are pictured with the pupils and class 5C teacher Helen Collins.
