Eco-warriors at Dersingham Infants and Nursery School in January 2010
Hard work by eco-warriors at Dersingham Infants and Nursery School paid off in January 2010 with the award of a special environmental prize.
It was given an eco-schools silver award after its eco council, which started in September the previous year, organised environmentally friendly projects such as litter picking, recycling old clothes and making sure lights and computers were switched off in classrooms.
In our Lynn News picture, the headteacher, Gayle Platt (left) presents the award to eco council members, from left, Owen Tuckwood, Ryan Barham, Isobel Hill, Eve Harmer, eco link teacher Sue Picton and eco governor Catherine Tuckwood.
Sue Picton said: “The children are all very enthusiastic and have come up with very good ideas.”
