In our weekly Memory Lane Schooldays feature we go back to 2000...

Shania Twain, S Club 7, the Spice Girls and Lou Bega all made one-off appearances at a charity Stars in Their Eyes show at Lynn’s King Edward VII High School in December 2000, raising £400 for the National Meningitis Trust.

It was organised by Year 11 students Victoria Newell and Jessica Matsell and took place just weeks after fellow student Jonathan Wagg died following a 14-week battle with the brain disease.

Staff and pupils took turns dressing up as their favourite stars and belting out their songs on the stage in front of fellow classmates, teachers and parents. Paul Tebay, head of sport, took the role of Matthew Kelly as master of ceremonies.
