Sporle First School Lynn News lookback April 2002, with Education Department certificate for SAT improved results

The weekly schools nostalgia picture goes back to April, 2002...

Head teacher Wayne Wildey proudly holds aloft the Education Department certificate for substantially improved results at Sporle First School.

This Lynn News picture was taken in April 2002 and helping to celebrate the success are young pupils and staff.

Mr Wildey said: “It has been awarded to us for improving our SAT results between 2000 and 2001 in comparison with other schools in similar circumstances.”

Stephen Timms, the School Standards Minister, also had praise for the hard work and dedication of the teaching and support staff at the Church of England voluntary controlled school. A small financial award also went to the staff to recognise their efforts.
